yesterday, i tried to order my bw.8, and they're outta stock!
they said that their anodizer is still working on the components, but they should have forks by the end of the month- which gives me a solid week or so to get used to a suspension fork again before the race :-(

You scared me. I thought you were going to say that they were giving up on the 29 market altogether and stopping production or something like that. Only a week to get used to a bw8? I wish I had your problems. If you don't mind me asking, how much do they want for one?
sorry! i didn't realize how bad that sounded!sslos

they're asking $599.99 retail for it, and from the cx-1s that i've worked on, it'll be worth it. i get better pricing- one minor fringe benefit to make up for earning considerable less money than a mcdonald's assistant manager, after working on bikes for, gasp!, this'll be my 14th year!!!

It always amazes me how poorly paid bicycle industry folks are. How does one explain that? Maybe they figure that people who love bikes will put up with the poor pay just so they can be around what they love. But that doesn't really hold water, because there are plenty of other industries with enthusiast employees who make a decent living.

$600- ugh. Looks like I'll have to live with my Zokie. Some day, though, when the kids are through college, and I'm speccing my Asylum dream bike....
