| Ti 29 frame with sloted dropouts and a derailure hanger | DavidB Jan 7, 2004 11:12 AM | | Would anyone buy a Ti 29 frame with the folowing canit studs, disc tab, single speed dropouts and a derail hanger. Or which features would you want. All for around $1250.00 retail. I'm just looking for feedback. Thanks |
| depends.... | donkey Jan 7, 2004 11:39 AM | | on who was building it, and whether or not custom options were available at that price. At 1250, your main competitor would be DEAN. |
| depends.... | ncj01 Jan 7, 2004 12:39 PM | | indeed it does depend on who makes them.
For instance you can get a full custom ti 29er for $375 if you're willing to have it made from a no-name company. |
| depends.... | tisingle Jan 7, 2004 1:28 PM | | i just got one a few weeks ago. custom ti 29" frame, ss drops with der hanger and cable guides, disc mounts, ti fork etc. very nice for the money..~$500 for all.
or there is this guy: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3649667520&category=22679&rd=1
good luck. erik |

$500 for frame and fork sounds like it may have come from XACD?
Tell us more, and let us see the whole bike... |
| tell us more..... | tisingle Jan 7, 2004 9:47 PM | | where did you get it: XACD, do they make airbornes?
how does it ride: im very happy with it. i spent alot of time and thought on the design. it rides as good as my 26" merlin.
initial quality impression: welds, bending, finish and machining cant be beat for the price. looks just like an airborne, almost as good as litespeed, definatly not a dean or if, seven.. dropouts and cable guides are perfect. |
| tell us more..... | Kustomz Jan 8, 2004 11:21 AM | | Is the fork very compliant? I wonder if it is available seperate? |
| fork | tisingle Jan 8, 2004 12:15 PM | | the fork is nice. definately more springy than steel but not to flexy for me. im light .130lbs. so your opinion my differ...forks are available seperate.. |
| Where'd you get yours? | martini Jan 7, 2004 2:20 PM | | Is it XACD? |
| depends....thats not a 29 inch tire | nimble Jan 7, 2004 5:03 PM | | Nice picture of a 42mm ritchey ZED, I can put that on my cross bike. Is that really a picture of a 29??? |
| depends....thats not a 29 inch tire | tisingle Jan 7, 2004 9:52 PM | | i had 49mm moto raptors on it first. no problem. the ritcheys 42mms are better for the mud we have now. when is a 700c tire a 29" tire? |

| no slotted discs either nm | tisingle Jan 8, 2004 12:30 PM | | not much |
| yeah, discs are going to be..... | donkey Jan 8, 2004 1:36 PM | | tough on that, being that the disc mount is fixed, without slots.
$500 is a good deal though...... |
