Mavic Speed City - Anybody Using them?idoru

Thinking of getting a set, I want to run them as Tubeless and they seem ideal, I can run them with disc's as well, so just what I am looking for.
Anybody done this or had any good/bad experiences?

Yes, there are people using them for off-roads use even when the manufacturer does not recommend it. Check out this article http://www.singletrackworld.com/article.php?sid=1133

I bougth the Speedcity wheelset but for on-roads use with road tires, still working on that. Do a search on this forum and you are going to find posts with pics of bikes using the wheelset.

They are the only factory wheel option on Airborn's B-29.

Howdy,

Have a set of SpeedCity's I use as my training wheelset.

Had the same idea as you originally. The thought was no spoke holes equals no rim strip. Got the tires to seal without trouble. But then with hand pressure on the sidewall I could get an air burp at 35psi. Later found out that running a standard tire without a rimstrip is know as "ghetto". In that you take the risk of an air burp while riding.

Not wanting to take that risk, I tried to get Stans's strip to fit without any luck (strip too wide). So I just run them with tubes.

Just some info to pass along from my experience.

Chad
