| 29er Wheel Woes- suggestions? | bikelabtech Jan 12, 2004 5:28 PM | | Saturday's ride on the Karate Monkey ended with a potato chipped front wheel from an ice patch fall. Well, it also retired my helmet (head protection = priceless). The fall was about an 8 out of 10 (9 would be a trip to the hospital, 10 ends the season).
The local LBS guru did his best with the wheel, but things are not pretty. I'm looking for suggestions for a 36 hole rim. This was an Alex TD-17 3-cross hand built 14/15 ga wheel.
Ideas?
Thanks. |

| 32 hole race lites? thats funny, mine only have 28 holes | mondo Jan 13, 2004 1:56 PM | | and are the biggest piles of poop i have ever owned!!!!
First rear wheel the tire would blow off at 50 psi
Second rear wheel the rim cracked
Third rear wheel the bearing are making all kinds of noise
The front is way too flexy and the bearing are crap |
