29er Wheel Woes- suggestions?(6 posts)

29er Wheel Woes- suggestions?bikelabtech

Saturday's ride on the Karate Monkey ended with a potato chipped front wheel from an ice patch fall. Well, it also retired my helmet (head protection = priceless). The fall was about an 8 out of 10 (9 would be a trip to the hospital, 10 ends the season).

The local LBS guru did his best with the wheel, but things are not pretty. I'm looking for suggestions for a 36 hole rim. This was an Alex TD-17 3-cross hand built 14/15 ga wheel.

Ideas?
Thanks.

I've got a pair of IRD Clyde's on order. 32H to be built up with an XT rear hub and a Ringle front (with the D shaped axle). I'll let everyone know how they build up once I get them.
32 hole race lites? thats funny, mine only have 28 holesmondo
