Cushest 29er so far? Thudbuster equipped Fisher 293?29erchico

I'm sure that I'll catch some flak for this one but here goes: I'm going to put my Thudbuster equipped '04 Fisher 293 up as possibly the cushest 29er to date. That nets me about 7" usable travel between the two rear suspension systems. The 4" travel Zoke in the front seems quite adequate with the 29'Bonty Jones 2.2" skin doing the rolling.

I know that this is a mortal sin: putting the Thud on a FS bike. But just like we are always telling the 29er naysayers in the 26er crowd: "If you haven't ridden one you don't have any idea what you are talking about".

I'm 6'3" and 225 pounds and ride pretty hard for a 46 year old nutcase. I ride primarily in Bidwell Park in Chico California. I learned to ride there in 1985. Upper Bidwell has some pretty gnarley tails. Trails that were only partly tamed by my recently sold Thud equipped '03 Fisher Paragon 29er hardtail are now just a grin and warp situation.

I have tuned the two rear suspension systems so that the he Thud deflects just after the rear swing arm becomes active.

Let the mud (or Thud) slinging begin!!

3.75" VooDoo FS + Rockshox postCloxxki

I used to swap bikes, my VooDoo Canzo FS for my buddy's Bokor. I needed my long seatpost, so he took his Rockshox+seat to the Canzo. Very plush ride, but not unacceptably "bobby". The post didn't bob when moutned on a hardtail, so why on an FS?
One effect might be that under big impacts, the Thud will take away some travel from the rear wheel, which might affect grip a bit. really big impacts, indeed you have a few extra inches to take up the load. Keep us posted on the new forum!
