crappy frame decals.. need help(10 posts)

crappy frame decals.. need helpTrek_crap
Jan 5, 2004 8:02 AM
I purchased a Trek 8500 frame and had it built from my other bike I received it just before Thanksgiving. The problem is that the decals are starting to peal. I pulled off the ones that are pealing. It is just poor quality from Trek. I could care less about the decals that have pealed off they are not the name or style of the bike. I bought some goo be gone to remove the sticky crap from the frame. The problem is that under the sticky crap is a smooth I guess sticker or something. I want to remove these because these look like crap. I can't seem to get them to peel up. I am unsure if anyone has had this problem if so how to remove these. I was going to take it to a body shop to see if they could remove them
Why bother? It seems you...fred³

care more about the ride and you bought an excellent hardtail. Hard to believe you'd really consider bringing it to a body shop though. That could be quite costly. If you really have to have it removed why not a bike shop?

The ride is all i really care about that is why i went with a high end hardtail frame. The reason for that I mentioned a body shop is they deal with removing items from painted surfaces and maybe they had a remover. I bought the bike for the ride and the decals are secondary in my opinion.

I'd just peel off everything that can be peeled and don't worry 'bout it....my Fuel is naked of stickers, other than what remains under the factory chainstay protective palstic crap (which is covered by a LizSkin anyways...same with the fork and wheels...it's a nice, bland, monotone black unbroken by fugly stickers, and it looks great that way....ahem, at least to me...heh
