How to by my 1st mtn bike -- resources?gnew
Jan 7, 2004 3:29 PM
Hi I kayak and run, and I'm going to start mtn biking for some adventure racing that's down the road, but I have no clue about bikes or what I need in my 1st bike or how to go about figuring out what all the specs mean. Any ideas of how I can learn more and what I should look for in my 1st bike that I won't outgrow too fast. Wide-open question but I'm just looking for some direction to get me started. I'm a petite woman at about 5 ft. who hasn't been on a bike in a quite a while. Thanks!!
How long are the races, and how competitive are you?Damion

Are you looking for an all out race bike, or mor of the do it all variety? More than likely, a Santa Cruz Juliana is great for you, at your size and intentions. Light, with components made for people your size. good luck.
