| Eastern Bikes | Will Aug 10, 2003 6:01 AM | | What do you guys think of eastern bikes. I'm contemplating getting a BMX bike and was looking on the web for a place that sells complete bikes. I checked Frankford bike and they have a couple of easterns on sale for like $250. My one point is that I want 3 pc cranks. I always remembered having a one piece crank on my bikes when I was young and always bent the hell out of them. These bikes were the only ones in there price range with 3pc cranks. Alot of the components were house brand. I've got back into biking the past 3 years(mountain bikes)and have only bent two 2 sets of cranks. Only one to the point it was unridable. If you have any other suggestions for a 30 year old guy trying to regain his youth let me know. I haven't even heard of most of the BMX bike companys out here now. I remember Hutch, CW , Dyno and some others that I don't even think exist any more. |

I'm 25 and still ride freestyle and feel a little funny at times but now is better than ever because there are more skate parks than ever. I think Eastern is good. See if you can check where the frame is welded. USA is always better but it's not terrible if it's Taiwan. Eastern is rider own in whole or part from what I understand. Do you remember Brian Blyther (i think) I believe he is part of Eastern. They make a great frame out of Reynolds 853 tubing. Check danscomp.com if you havn't already for any deals.
Take it easy |
| Eastern is rider owned, but not by Blyther... | Garson Sep 2, 2003 1:35 PM | | I think you're mistaking him for Jon Beyers (sp?) They seem to make some good stuff none the less. |
