Good 16" bikes. Where?dirtydown

I have been trying to find a couple good 16" bikes for my kids. Everything I see is incredibly heavy and has big heavy knobby tires. These d*mn kids bikes are as heavy as my Kona Dawg Deluxe.

I've got two kids that play around on Haro's Mirra 360's. They got use to the weight pretty quick. One came with Maxxis hookworms and the other a Haro Chevron pattern neither are knobby. Redline's Pitboss is probably a little lighter but not as stout and may come with the knobbies if I recall. Hoffman makes a 16" that is similar to the Haro but heavier. The Haro and the Hoffman are real for sure little rippers and at $190 its hard to go wrong. Interestingly I talked to Steve from Brew Bikes at the Woodbridge National he said he could make a 16" so if there is cash to burn custom is always a possibility. For what its worth the majority of kids at the Rye Airfield skatepark in NH were riding Haro's.

Thanks. I am ordering a couple Redline Pit Boss' next week from a local shop. They do come with knobbies. However, Kenda makes a 16" road tire for recumbent bikes that should make there road experience more enjoyable.

My conscience just can't stand seeing them struggling with those cheap department store bikes when I have a stable of bikes to choose from for specific conditions.
