| Anyone having luck with the new Hope Mini pads? | berrywise Sep 18, 2001 9:19 PM | | I've got a few rides now on my new pads that Hope sent out to me but the news still squeel. Not as loud as the old ones but still annoying as hell. It is mainly the rear brake but the front will do it just as loud once it heats up.
Are there any other manufacturers with replacement pads done yet? I'd just like to be able to use my bell to alert other riders instead of using my brakes.

I am just thinking that the set up is ultra critical. You Must have to shim them up perfectly. Either that or the frame is just amplifying any resonance coming from the brakes! |
| Still squeelin' | Joe Steel Sep 19, 2001 7:02 AM | | After more than a few rides. I haven't studied them close enough yet, but was wondering if perhaps they just sent out more of the original pads. The alignment must be critical, but I've noticed that the alignment changes from ride to ride.
I plan to clean my pads and rotors today and see if I can make any adjustments to the alignment. This will be a last ditch effort to get the squeeling to stop. If that fails, I'll wait for an aftermarket manufacturer to come up with some pads. Maybe that will help.
Anyone know when aftermarket pads may be available?? |
