EBC Green Pads For Minis(9 posts)

EBC Green Pads For MinisBrettE
Sep 19, 2001 8:03 AM
Gary @ EBC sent me 2 pair of newly formulated EBC Green pads for the Hope Mini. They are not out yet.

I'm of town on business for a week but will post results as soon as I get in a ride or two.

Kudos to EBC and Gary for remembering my inquiry a couple months back.

BrettE,

Can't you cancel the business trip??? I got some of the new Hope pads but they still squeal!!! Dying to know what the EBC's are like. Love the brakes, but hate the squeal.

...super sensitive. i have a front set up and since i got the new pads i have only heard an occassional squeel.

i just center the caliper to the rotor and center the pistons to the rotor and thats it. i did, however have a slow moving piston (compared to the other piston) but i lubed the sides up with dot fluid and it moves much more freely.

ive heard of squeeling problems with any disc and the fframe (esp. trek fuel). this situation just might be an inherant characteristc of the frame and its mounts. try tying a piece of inner tube onto the seatstay (just like what they do with tennis racquets w/ rubber band).

ive also heard of problems with RS psylos but that just might be heresay.

Unfortunately given the economy of late and the fact that I worked for a .bomb quite a while back. The business trip is a must if I want to continue to buy toys.

The EBC's look much cleaner that the "quiet" galfers. The other thing I noticed that is great is the piece of metal that the pads are mounted to is solid copper. Sweet.
