Air in Hydro lines?(2 posts)

Air in Hydro lines?Lando Griffon
Sep 20, 2001 7:01 PM
I'm new to hydro disc brakes. I opened the resevoir in my XT disc, and was able to top up the oil level. it was a mm or 2 low. I squeezed the lever back and forth, no bubbles. i topped it off, and redid the cap. If the level is low, does that mean there is air in the system? Is what I did all that is required? Thanks

Check the pad thickness. As the pads wear and the pistons extend further, even in the rest position, fluid is drawn from the reservoir to compensate.
