hayes lever pumps out on downhill ride????13
Sep 21, 2001 12:52 PM
i'm sure i dont have air in my system
whenever i'm on the brakes on a downhill my lever starts to pumpout(lever reach suddenly extends from normal)
i understand that hayes has a reservoir for expanding fluid so this should not happen?
any idea whats causing this?
by the way its on my rear brake thats the problem my front seems to be okay
thanks for any info

If the system has too much fluid thre will be less space for expansion.

Yep too much fluid.

Bleed it again but push the pistons back into the caliper when you do.

Yes if you're careful you can do it this way. Take the pads out first to make sure you don't get any fluid on them. You may need two people to ensure no air gets in.
