Do the brake bosses on an Aeon Isis unscrew?...eelpie

I'm putting on some Avid mech discs and was wondering if the frame bosses come off. They look like they do, but I didn't want to damage one trying it if this is not the case. Thanks.

Because he is wrong you can remove your brake bosses. For some reason I was thinking of cable stops. You will need those for your shifting. The brake bosses can be removed (I call them canti bosses because I am old). Sorry about the brainfart......jdcamb

the bosses are welded to the upper triangle arms, but the caliper arm pivot studs screw into the bosses and therefore are removable. I've known some people who have found some short, large diameter metric bolts to insert in place of the brake pivot studs, but I've yet to find them.
1000 and 2 uses for a dremel, or use wax ....fd

to fill in holes if you think you might want to re-insert studs later. I could not find short metric ones either, so I just cut them down with dremel. Later on I thought of wax or p-tex ski repair candles. The latter would be a bear to get out.

Great ideas...thanks to all! nmeelpie
