| "International" Disc Brakes | James Jan 9, 2002 10:59 PM | | Hello:
I was hoping someone could answer a question I have regarding disc brakes. I recently got back into mountain biking; therefore, disc brakes are a little new to me. I bought a new frame today, Jamis Dakar Sport, and currently have a Giant Rainer, with entry-level disc brakes. I mail ordered the frame so I don't have it yet; however, the internet site said the frame has an "international disc mount! no v-brakes!" The question is, will my rear caliper, from my Giant, fit on Jamis' drop-outs? Sadly, the bike shop I went to had no idea what I was talking about--disc brakes aren't their "thing."
Any information that can be passed along would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
James |

Thanks for the information; you're right they did fit. You're also right, I need to get new levels! But the frame is a nice ride!
Thanks again,
