Hope Mini's and EBC Gold Pads.....Joe Steel

What can I expect from these pads?

I've had the Mini's for about 6 months. I ride XC (SC Superlight) and I've finally learned to cope with the sometimes noisey brakes (I tried all the recommended tricks, received the Hope replacement pads, etc.).

As the pads have worn considerably during my tribulations, I decided I ought to order a new set of pads. I ordered the EBC green pads (for XC use). What I received where the EBC gold pads. I'm planning to keep them and try 'em out but....

Anyone use these? What can I expect for performance, noise, etc.?

Thanks!

According to EBC (http://www.ebc-brakes.com/mountain.htm):

"EBC's new Gold-coded sintered bronze alloy brake pads are available for many high-performance calipers. They have the benefit of huge lifetime, an extremely high friction and good fade resistance. The Gold grade are best used on "open systems" due to their higher heat generation. If your caliper does not have an insulating system to prevent the heat being transferred into the caliper it would be inappropriate to use these pads in downhill use."

I used EBC greens and golds in my Hope C2 Pros without any issues. I'm not sure how they will perform noise-wise with the Minis.
