Happy Easter, y'all!

My family and I enjoyed a beautiful drive to the eastside of the Cascades yesterday (3/30). We visited the Barbie Campsite where it was sunny and warm -- 65° if you can believe it. Mr. T was there. He said: "Ah pity da foo hoo ain't got no sunglassuz!!"*

--> BARBIE CAMP UPDATE <--

THE GOOD NEWS: As of Saturday there were quite a few snow patches remaining on the ground but that didn't stop us from driving all the way into camp. No problem! There, the clearest water in the world babbled by in picturesque Lake Creek. The smell of pines in the warm breeze was overwhelming. The stumps all bore bike brands. The snow was melting fast plus the forecast calls for temps in the 60's through next week, so I'm sure what little snow remains will be gone by midweek. The bottom line: we're able to party hardy in our usual awesome BC campsite!!!

THE OTHER NEWS: With record snowpack this year, much of the surrounding local riding will be inaccessible due to the white stuff. Off-limits trails include Cache Mtn, Green Ridge and the Black Butte network. The NW end of Suttle Tie Trail was buried under 6-8" of snow yesterday but I believe it will be clear and rideable by next weekend. AND. we have other excellent riding options close to camp. I suggest we consider a short road trip over to the Gray Butte/Smith Rock area on Saturday and then ride Peterson Ridge Trail near Sisters on Sunday, or some plan similar to this. Both areas are close-by and free of snow. (SeenYour Crash rode Gray Butte last weekend and said the riding there is fantastic.)

So y'all c'mon out and camp with your Barbie Brethren & Cistern! The weather is ALWAYS nice there and we'll provide y'all with a porta-potty, lots of covered kitchen area and as usual, Barbie's trademark bonfires. "Brand Al's meat!" BYO magnesium! Like Mr. T says: "If yoo ain't bin ta no B'ahbee Camp, yoo dunno wut chooz missin', foo!" (Well, that's what he told us anyway.)
