Want to mount a Hayes 8" w/71mm caliper to Manitou(5 posts)

Want to mount a Hayes 8" w/71mm caliper to ManitouBruce

Would be simple if the caliper was a 74mm spacing, but is a 71mm so does anyone know of an adaptor or do I need to get something machined?

Obviously will have to offset the mount a bit too otherwise the bolts mounting to the fork are gonna be real close to the caliper bolts.

Any suggestions?

is that youll have to get something machined, or buy a 74mm half caliper(about $30-40). i doubt there are any adapters available for that 71mm.......
Link to 8 inch adapter. But....BCRider

...not sure if this is what you want but it came up in a thread down this forum a little ways talking about 8 inch rotors.

And I found some drawings over at the Hayes site....

I left you a message on mountainbike.co.nz, basically you make one or pay $140NZ for a 74mm caliper half and $90NZ for an 8 inch adaptor.

I'll try to find the measurements for the custom one I made.

Thanks for the help guys. Looks like custom is the only way to go.
