Avid single digit 25 versus Shimano XTR brakes.Trekkie

How do these two compare? So far I hear that the Avid brakes have the same power as XTR brakes and they don't squeal at much, they hold better power in wet and mud and is less costly than the XTR brakes.

I can't compare them to XTR's but the 2.5's DON'T squeal, easy to set up, inexpensive and stop on a dime. I run SD-7 lever's, great modulation, can't go wrong with Avid's they won't disappoint you in any way.
where'd you find the sd 25's?daneil

I've got the 2.5's, Arch 50's and the Avid discs on various bikes and both of my V's don't squeal or squeak. I've had my 2.5's for a two years now. I looked on SuperGo's site and they have the Single Digit 7 Fr & Rr w/Levers for $65.00 from the pic's they look like my SD 2.5's so they may have replaced the 2.5's. They also have the Arch Rival with SD7 levers for $89.00. The only difference is if you run wider tires than 1.95' s the Arch Rival can be a bit of a pain when taking your wheel off, I can't feel much if any difference between the two ( I like the 2.5's a bit better cause I run 2.10's ) You couldn't go wrong with either, don't just take my word on it, read the reviews also. By the way the SD-7 speed dial levers spank the Shimano's ( and that's my .02 cents ) they have a nice wide blade, easy to adjust and no mush. good luck and good riding ; )
