| double discbrakes | richard west Apr 2, 2002 4:34 AM | | ive got double disc mounts on my bombers and i have heard that dave cullian used to run 2 disc brakes on the front. are there any pictures of this cos i just have to see it as i want to know if i could do it to.i already no about the odd size mounts on my bombers btw. |
| You sure you have 2 disc brake caliper mounts on your fork? | AndyH Apr 2, 2002 5:21 AM | | I have never seen that on any fork, although I have to admit I've not inspected many DH-specific forks. Any pics that you could post?
It seems unlikely that dual discs would be necessary for any type of riding. In addition, you'd likely need a custom brake lever / master cylinder in order to provide enough pressure to activate two sets of brake calipers. |
| He prob has the first yr bomber fork | THB Apr 2, 2002 8:15 AM | | I forget is the 2nd yr had them as well
My Z1 had tabs on both sides as well but they arent standard spacing like my xfly has
He would need a dual disk hub? and a spliter or whatever its called from the lever
I seen it before but cant recall how exactly it was done
Reason noone does it is they say its too much braking needed for mtbs
Cant ever have too much though :) |
