...stuck with a warped rotor? In my case, two warped rotors. Still 100% operable, but I can't maintain braking performance without get drag/chime/squeal.

The worst sound comes when ever so slightly pushing the bike around the garage, etc. Kinda resonates. To get rid of the rub, I need to open the calipers up so wide braking goes to pot...

Is this endemic to the Avid rotors of a particular vintage (mine are early '01s?

This happens all the time and is just "one of those things" with discs. You can true it quite easily with your hands(wear gloves or use a rag over the rotor, you don't want to get oil on the rotor). Just carefully bend it back into shape, it doesn't take much effort, and doesn't take very much truing, just very slight adjustments. Good luck.

Most all rotors bend easilyshiggy

regardless of the brand. It does not that much to slightly bend one in a crash or even just laying the bike down for a rest stop.

They are also easily bent back, as guppydoc says above.
Thanks - will try trueing tonight (NM)Khemikal Ali
