| Brakes for Coda 4 bolt rotors | afzim Apr 3, 2002 2:35 PM | | Anybody out there have any luck converting another hydraulic disc brake to CODA rotors? |
| re: Brakes for Coda 4 bolt rotors | Steve S Apr 4, 2002 12:40 AM | | Hope definitely make 4 bolt rotors to fit CODA. Formula make a 4 bolt rotor, but I am not sure if it will fit a CODA hub or not. Should imagine it does though. Also, Magura USED to make 4 bolt rotors as Cannondale specced Maggy brakes on a number of their bikes. Don't know if these were special OEM brakes though.

| re: Brakes for Coda 4 bolt rotors | Jimbo2k Apr 4, 2002 2:34 AM | | The rear brake seems to be a problem. The Coda Caliper never had enough stopping power for me. I tried a magura louise brake with a Coda Expert hub and rotor. The rotor was small at 151mm and did not get enough swept area on the rotor. Changed to a magura 4 bolt rotor 160mm, and it was better, but the rotor spacing was off by a little bit. It was usable. If I had to do it again, I would definitely get rid of all Coda items. Still got that 151mm rotor if you need one. Jim |
| Hayes makes the rotors. My shop has made Hayes work.... | WEBERTIME Apr 4, 2002 10:23 AM | | The rotors are made for C-Dale by Hayes. They are the same thickness The Rear I believe needs just the Hayes to IS adapter, and the front needs the same if you are running a small CODA rotor or if you have the larger one you need an 8" Hayes to IS adapter and just flip it upside-down. Try sliding your wheels and rotors into a bike with hayes and you'll see. |
| Thanks for the info | afzim Apr 4, 2002 9:15 PM | | This information is for a friend with a Jekyll with the lefty fork.
I put Martas on my Jekyll while I could still get 4 bolt rotors from Magura. I heard a rumor that Magura would no longer produce 4 bolt rotors. Since it is not cheap to replace hubs and brakes, I appreciate the helpful information and will pass it along to my friend. |
