can Mini lever be used w/other Hope open brakes...?(4 posts)

can Mini lever be used w/other Hope open brakes...?edgy

like an enduro 4 for example...?

I had heard that the mini levers were specific to the Mini caliper/system, but I cannot figure out why it would not work on an enduro 4...or any other Hope Open brake (02) ?

I thought mabey it had to do with the "Master Cylinder" ( how's that for anarcane d.miller like felix the cat reference!!!)

anyone try it??

I want to use an enduro 4 up front & a mini in the rr but i'd like to keep the same levers on both ends of the bar...plus the Mini lever/reserv. is SWEEEET!

...one of the best feeling Hydro levers i've ever pulled!

all you Hopesters with any info or a bright idea, i welcome the feedback!!

edgy.
I sort of doubt it....Monte

look at the size of the pistons on the Enduro compared to the Mini. I think you would end up with a lot of lever movement using the Mini master cylinder with the Enduro and may not get the pistons to move far enough to get good braking.

Hope have a new brake out called the M4 its the same calliper as the Enduro 4 but it uses the hope mini lever. i dont know wot they have done inside but it looks the same on the outside i think. you might aswell swap the levers for the hell of it cos nowt is gonna bust.p.s isnt the hope mini uncannily similar to the old sport lever but with new shape reservoir and pro series price tag ?(still great though)

The enduro caliper has been reworked to bekome the M4, the old one will not work properly with a mini lever. And no the mini lever really is nothing like the old sport lever, the blade has a different shape and feel, the reservoir is different, and the mini has a split clamp, and neither is it like the old pro price. Take a look at the price of an old closed system hope brake with a sport lever, or even an original hope hydro brake and you'll see the price to be the same and even more than a mini
