| Do I need adaptor to mount Shimano disc brakes on Manitou? | SFrider Apr 4, 2002 10:22 AM | | I have a Manitou X-Vert Air and was wondering if I need an adaptor to mount my Shimano XT Disc brakes (currently on a Rock Shox SID SL) on it. Also, I am considering Formula Activa mechanical disc brakes, would I need an adaptor for those. Has anyone had experience with Formula Activa disc brakes? Thanks |
| Don't all Manitou forks use a post mount? | AndyH Apr 4, 2002 2:56 PM | | If so, yes...you will need an adapter as your current Rock Shox has the standard IS mount. |
| You need the larger rotor too | Nor'Easter Apr 4, 2002 5:45 PM | | You will need the adaptor and the 170mm rotor as the adaptor moves the caliper 5mm out from the hub. |
