Which brakes? Avid or Avid?KevNev

Hate to beat a dead horse, I'm building a Titus Racer-X for mainly XC.
Need to choose a brake/wheel combo and am now at the rim brake vs. disc brake crossroad. Had planned to go with Avid Ult blk ops but have been hearing more good experiences with Avid Mech Discs.
I want reliability, good modulation, good stopping power (I think both are good for me). Not much wet here in AZ but possibility exists. I weight about 145 lb. Also, looking for reasonable lightness. Please shed some light on this for me.

Get the disc brakes. You will love the low maintenance, Low effort, and long pad wear. You won't care about the tiny weight difference once you've used them. These brakes Rock!

Thanks for the input. Chris at Titus recommended the Avid Ult.
Black Ops and I had tested other Avid brake sets and was very
impressed. I have never ridden a disc brake set up before so maybe
I'd better start there.
