Using 165mm rotors on Hayes Mechanical Disks(160mm rotor)??(2 posts)

Using 165mm rotors on Hayes Mechanical Disks(160mm rotor)??_Carl
Jul 12, 2002 7:55 PM
I want to use a different rotor with my hayes mechanical disk brakes. The problem is that it is 5mm bigger than the stock 160mm hayes rotor.

Can I just use 2.5mm washers to space the caliper back?

Any other suggestions

Thanks

Carl

You can use washers to line up the caliper but it may not be just using 2.5mm on each post. You are going to have to check how the pads hit the rotor and make adjustments in the washers.
