Options for 22mm Hayes mount?(3 posts)

Options for 22mm Hayes mount?Hubs2121
Jul 17, 2002 8:03 PM
It is my understanding that I can use either a Hayes hydraulic direct mount, or a Hope...But I need some clarification.

Which Hope brakes can I use (I have an O2 on the front now)? What caliper # do I need, and what else???

Thanks,

Steve

Is this for the front or rear ?? If it is for the rear, you have quite a few adapters from Hayes 22mm to IS Standard. Shimano makes one that Jenson sells for $39, Woodman Components and hammerhead also makes an adapter too. If your mount is on the chainstay however, you will not be able to use any of them as there is not enough space required to mount the adapter and the caliper. The front I am not sure about, there are tons of adapters made for that application.

Sorry, it's a rear chainstay mount...Hubs2121

I'm aware of the various adaptors to make it IS but they won't fit so I think that leaves just the old Hayes style and possibly the Hope.

I am more interested in the Hope...specifically, will the Mini fit? Can anyone confirm that they make the mini with the proper caliper? I have emailed Hope USA, but they are usually pretty slow to respond.

Here is a picture of the mount:

Thanks,

Steve
