Jul 17, 2002 9:27 PM | | I jsut got my HMX-1 and I got the adaptor to mount them on my IS fork mount but my frame has 22mm post mount on the chainstay...Do i need an adaptor for these hayes brakes or no? I'm confused help me out. Thanks! |

Jul 18, 2002 8:46 AM | | on the rear and 68mm on the front. Most of the other brake companies refused and came up with the current IS standard which Hayes now uses but only with an adaptor to convert from their new post mount "standard" of 74mm.
Your problem is the older frame, not the newer brakes.
Just the joys of new technology. At least all new disc components work together (excluding the '03 XTR.) |

The HammerHead disc adapter is for international standard callipers, 51mm hole centres and the inside edge is inline with the inside of the dropout this will allow fitment of any currently available disc brake calliper, hydraulic or cable operated (mechanical) and can be used with Hayes Standard callipers in conjuction with Hayes International Standard Adapter.
So that means i use the adaptor i use and the hammerhead one? |

I have a Klein with 22mm mounts and had to get an IS adaptor from them. I just mounted Avid mechs with no problems after that. |
