| $2 a Ride for Magura Pads | Jaybo Nov 11, 2002 6:16 PM | | My Magura pads are shot because I ride in a lot of muddy, wet weather. The Marta pads are $30 a wheel, so I figure I'm paying about a $2 a ride for pads. I get about 30 rides out of a pair of Magura brake pads. This kinda sucks! Any ideas? |

like 80 cts per ride instead of 2.00 $

| One more bitc*! | Jaybo Nov 12, 2002 10:53 AM | | Come on, Magura, $30 a wheel for brake pads is pathetic! I certainly understand Magura is not a not-for-profit company, but talk about scalping us. Is there an aftermarket company that makes Magura disc pads? Thanks. |
| Google search turned up Kool Stop pads... | AndyH Nov 12, 2002 12:26 PM | | ...Kool Stop makes a replacement pad for the Magura Marta:

I'm sure EBC and others will make pads for them before too long as well. |
| Aftermarket pads.................... | Jimi 0333 Nov 12, 2002 1:20 PM | | Aftermarket pads are not recommended for the Magura's. Remember that our pads are organic and not sintered metal. If you use these kind of aftermarket pads they will boil the fluid and cause brake failure. This voids the warranty also. Give me a email and we can talk about your situation. |
| Clear the record | Jaybo Nov 13, 2002 10:46 AM | | A friend used my name to discuss his Magura Marta's as you can see. I have only owned mine for a short period of time, so I have no real feedback except I love disc brakes. I have been teasing him because we have not had 30 mud days here in the NW yet; maybe he is talking about last spring. He talked me into the Marta's. |
