My ebc reds broke in real quick with a little water-probably get in trouble for saying that around here, but- and sonce then they have been dang good and have never squealed.

I re-align my avids kinda often, whenever I change anything with the brakes I re-align my calipers just for the heck of it. Might be worth a try.

I also noticed the vers. 1 avids sqeak more than the newer ones, or atleast mine do.

I have one of each and on the older version I have the new style avid pads and a clip installed, if I were to hear a squeal and I do occaisionally, it would be from this caliper in the last moments before I come to a stop.

The Red compound say Downhill only. How long do they last? would they be a good choice as opposed to the gold ones for heavy riding but not serious downhill?
