Louise Front Disc Problem(3 posts)

Louise Front Disc ProblemTrialsBug

Help! I just installed a Magura Louise disc on the front of my trials bike and I am having some problems. The disk is rubbing on the body of the brake caliper. This is supposed to be a 2000 Louise, but I am wondering if it could be the 1999 Louise that followed the old disc standards. How can I tell the difference? I just removed a 2001 Avid disk and I did not have any problems with it. I have a rigid fork and a Kink ISO Disk front hub. The disk is rubbing on the outside edge of the groove in the caliper. Any suggestions.

Thanks Mike. I had checked it out, but I did not see any mention of how to tell the difference between the '00 and '99 model years. I also had a problem with my fork because the disc tabs did not seem to be very straight. I did not have any problems with my Avid disc because its adjustability makes it much more forgiving than the Louise. I ended up assuming that it was the '99 and I ground the heck out of the fork (rigid steel) and the brake and the fit appears to be acceptable.
