Shimano XT brake lines work for Grimeca????sener

Can anyone tell me if the Shimano brake lines can be used with DOT3 and 4 Fluids?

I've heard that because the seals in the Shimano are designed for Mineral oil that the DOT stuff will eat through it.

I ended up getting jagwires. they are more expensive but you can cut them and they seem so far to work fine...
