best place to get Hayes replacement levers?(2 posts)

best place to get Hayes replacement levers?cabinfever

I bought a new Giant AC Air Lite. I love the bike, but the Hayes HFX Comp brakes have the cheesiest plastic lever housings. I broke one on my second ride. I've since fixed it with epoxy, but would like backups in the event it happens again. Anyone know where the best place to get these might be?

I think the HFX comps are being discontinued. You may have to buy the mag housing and a new lever because the levers are different. The comp lever has a screw to hold it on and the 2000 mag style uses a pressed in pin. I think you can use your same master cylinder in the new housing. Go-ride has the 2000 mag ones and levers http://www.go-ride.com/prod_brakes.html#hayes-part They may also sell the whole lever housing assembly.
