8" rear brake rotor on Trek 8500 frame?(3 posts)

8" rear brake rotor on Trek 8500 frame?Chris Cylinder

I know most people will think I'm crazy for considering this, but will an 8" disc rotor work on an '01 Trek 8500 frame? I currently have Avid 6-inchers on my bike, but I'm a huge fan of over-the-handlebars braking power (plus 8" rotors look awesome). It looks like there's enough room next to the chainstay, but I was wondering if anyone knew for sure whether or not an 8" rotor would fit.

Thanks!
Chris

The 185mm's and 205mm's will fit that frame.
