Disck Brake Overheating: using water to refrigerate them?(3 posts)

Disck Brake Overheating: using water to refrigerate them?Duccio
Nov 19, 2002 8:42 AM
During a steep slope my Formula B4 got overheating.
I got the temptation to refrigerate calipers and rotors using water in my bottle, but I didn't that.
Is it possible to damage the pads, rotors or other parts putting water on overheated brakes?
Thanks.

Yes, your rotors can warp very badly. Don't do it.
What were the symptoms of the overheating?Cube
