8" rotors on my AC1(4 posts)

8" rotors on my AC1NATSU

Hi,
Lately I've been thinking about putting 8" rotors on my AC1. It currently has the stock 6" Hayes but see more and more people with 8" rotors on both the front and back. After reading some of the posts, and from experience, I realized that my riding style does not warrant larger disks but given the coolness factor and money not being a problem, should I still upgrade? Maybe just the front? What are the pros and cons of installing larger rotors? Any advise is appreciated.

Thanks!

with 8" rotors. I love the stopping power, but I think an 8" on the rear isn't necessary. I actually removed my 8" rear and installed a 6" because someone told me to would cut down on the god awful squealing it was making. It really didn't do anything though.

If money is not an option, go with both otherwise, just do the front. I didn't really notice any difference between the 8" rear over the 6" rear.

Topher, thanks for your advise.
I don't seem to have a problem with my brakes squealing but notice that my rear rotor seems to warp quite a bit. I have to get my trusty adjustable wrench and true them about once every couple of weeks. No problem ever with the front. Do you think that larger rotors will warp more that the 6" rotors? I am thinking about just doing the front now.
Thanks!
I don't think so........Topher

I have never had a warping problem even with old NRS that had 6" rotors. Not really sure if the 8" are more prone to warping. It seems to me that the more surface area the quicker it would cool.

Maybe someone else has and answer. I'd also like to know.
