Has anyone else heard about a recall of hayes hydros? I just bought a kona roast with hayes hydraulic discs and the frony brakes were leaking, this happened with alot of the other roasts, but no other bikes, does any one else no anything about this? it might just be the bikes that came to New Zealand.

Nope, haven't heard anything.
Whereabouts were your brakes leaking from?
If it was a small seep from the port in the lever then don't be concerned, it happens during freight. Otherwise your shop should get it fixed.

Nah, it leaks where the hose goes into the calliper, the guys at my lbs rang the hayes distributor and gave him a list of the serial numbers of affected brakes. Mine are hfx-9's but my friends bike was fine when he bought it and it has the next model up hayes, and they have developed the same problem

I think those brakes may have the new type of caliper fittings. Hayes was saying they were coming out with new caliper fittings at the Interbike trade show.

What store?
The design has changed quite a bit over last years - I guess the jury is out regarding whether or not the change was a good thing.
