| Thanks Mike T! | yankeeheel Mar 28, 2003 9:54 AM | | Love your site and used your ridiculously simple method to true my Avid rotor. Worked like a champ.
Thanks again. |
| Waddeye doo? | Mike T. Mar 28, 2003 12:22 PM | | Oh you trued your rotor? Great stuff YH! Yeah dead easy isn't it? I'm glad I was of help.

| If it makes you feel any better... | JimC. Mar 28, 2003 3:34 PM | | I been crankin' and yankin' biggly on my rear 190mm Gustav rotor, which I'm sure Taco Bell uses as a model for their fine cuisine, to no avial. I'm not done yet, a pipe wrench might be next, but boy it's not co(fargin')operating at all.
Next I think I'll remove it and put it on a flat surface and see what, if anything, I can do.
Maybe I need a new rotor but I'm still in denial for a while.
Next I gotta read up on headset installation from the grimy awards, there might be a tip or two in there, like "just wale (sp?) away on that sucker and teach it who's boss".

| Jim................ | Mike T. Mar 28, 2003 4:33 PM | | .....I'm working on a "one blow" rotor trueing evolution to compliment the "one blow - two cups" headset installation instructions. Can you just hold off a while?
The headset installation instructions got put on hold for a few months as I couldn't find a helper who wouldn't flinch at the peak movement. Of couse my old helper losing a thumb didn't help matters when the story got around. I've modified my technique since then.
I'm now looking for a blind man with no sense of anticipation and who doesn't listen to rumours.
I'll get back to ya. |
