Help w/ a Hayes hydro that turns mushy..Locoman
Mar 31, 2003 8:30 AM
For some reason my back brake (hayes hydro) slowly turns to mush. It happens slowly over about a months time. It's nice and firm after bleeding, but then changes.

My guess is that I'm getting air in there. Any ideas on how to go about fixing that?

Maybe the brake lines are a little loose ( don't overtighten) or maybe the piston seals are old. Check your bleed screw port O-ring for cracks, air may be comming in from there.
