so I stick in new pads for the 190mm Gustav front on Sunday a.m., and head out. It's raining heavily bur rode a good 2 hours up and down Burnaby Mtn. in Vancouver, very wet, very muddy.

The howls from the new pads was awesome. 3 riders went deaf. I saw 2 bears run away (paws over ears).

I guess I better rough them pads up just a little. Hmn, never done that before.

On the bright side, rode some really steep ruts - straight down fall line with a rivulet/creek in it and had no problems with modulation, great brakes. Just loud, well, for now.

What was that you said? WOULDJA SPEAK UP?

Your brakes served as a fine substitution for the 6 cups of coffee I'd missed out on that morning. I realize now that I blew by the entrance to Nicoles' because the unholy howl from your maggies blurred my vision.

BTW, found Craig about where I thought he'd be - he'd walked all the way back up Nicole's looking for us then eventually ended up down on the powerline. Poor ba$tard looked miserable.

I drove over to the bottom of Joe's but couldn't see anything. I still can't picture where we missed the trail, but that said, one of the best rides I've had in quite a long time (rain excepted).

'Twas a good ride!

I'm thinking I'll mark the entrance inconspicuously with a flashing neon sign. I'm sure Glen Clark & Jimmy Pattison can hook me up.

Went up as high as the gravel pit (~7.5 switchbacks).

Rode/walked "Walk in the Clouds" in really bad shape. Was trying to ride Squeeky Elbow but missed the turn.
Rode back up and did Seventh, Leapord, Kirkford, Crinkem, Griffen, KOTS, etc.

Jen snapped a chain so we fixed that.

Lots of fun!

Adjourned to the Bear for lunch.
