D.I.Y. Hayes Disc bleed kit (x-post)Ripzalot

Sorry, I forgot about the "Brake Time" forum! ...

I've read some posts / sites about a DIY hayes disc bleed kit consisting of a syringe and plastic hose. Anyone doing this and can tell me where to find these parts? What type syringe? What gauge hose? Would something like Home Depot have it or do I need to go to a medical supply store? Please post specifics, as I will need to instruct my brother where to find it for me (I'm in Switzerland).

Thanks!
i'd like to know to, because...danny K

None of my 12 lbs have a bleed kit for hayes, and the company has not replied to me. Options are good.

For the syringe, I used a turkey seasoning injector, which happened to have the exact size fitting for the quarter-inch nylon tubing that I used. Just get a few feet of nylon tubing and the syringe, and your set. I also used a coat hanger bent around a 20 oz. soda bottle that would hang from the handle bars to collect the fluid coming out of the lever bleed port. FYI, the syringe I had had a rubber plunger and I had no problems with it swelling, but I understand that some rubbers will swell when exposed to DOT fluid. I
i did
however, have to replace the nylon hose periodically, because it would swell, causing it to not fit properly on the caliper bleed fitting and the syringe. Whole thing costed around $10.
