Changes to my Avid set-up(2 posts)

Changes to my Avid set-upGregC

Replaced my XTR housings with Flak Jackets front and rear, holy smokes what a difference. Solid and snappy with no compression or flex.
Next change, Kool-stop pads on the rear. Rode today with the pads for the first time. Ten minutes into my planned two hour ride, it started to pour rain. The pads worked spot on out of the package. No break i9n time needed whatsoever. My front Avid b3 pads on the front squeeled like a pig, but stopped flawlessly. I wish I put a Kool-stop on the front.
We will have to wait and see how well they handle long hot downhills.

that Flackjackets make these brakes feel 100% better. A lot of people still recommend going with plain housing.. I'm guessing it's because they haven't tried the flackjacket setup.
