Hydraulic experts, advice....(2 posts)

Hydraulic experts, advice....MikeeR

I have the opportunity to buy some Hope mini's, they're used but in very good condition, problem is I'm used to my brakes setup so the lefthand lever works the rear and the right the front. I would need to swap the lines over on these mini's to work like this. I'm not new to hydraulics (hs33's) but I am new to discs and Hope mini's in particular. The question is, is swapping the lines over a particularly difficult task, any reasons why it can't be done, any spare parts needed?
Thanks.

The only part you may need is some fluid.

Just unscrew the lever hose fittings and swap them across. You may get away without having to bleed. Afterwards pull the lever in and zip tie it to the bars. This makes air bubbles smaller and makes them rise. After a while take the top off the reservoir and release the lever. If you're lucky the air bubble will pop into the reservoir leaving the system air free.
