Right now I have 51mm calipers, manitou shock so I have that front adaptor for it so instead of using a 160mm rotor (I could have gotten the 74mm caliper in the first place and never got the adaptor or the 170mm rotor), I'm using a 170mm rotor so it would work out. My question is: Could I just buy a 203mm rotor with no problem? Or would I need to get a 74mm caliper so there is no adaptor?

Anyone know?! Just looking to upgrade my front rotor from 170mm to 185mm!
I don't know that that adapter exists...næstep

Essentially, your Post-to-IS adapter adds +10mm to whatever rotor you throw on there, so if you were to find an adapter that converts a caliper to a 185 or 203 mount, you'd need to find a 195 or 213mm rotor to make it work.

If you wanted it badly enough, you could likely find an enterprising student to make an adapter to your specs in their machine shop, and you could definitely draw up a post-to-IS 185 or 203 adapter and not have to worry about anymore oddball rotor sizes.
