| Cult | liatdraH Jul 27, 2003 1:27 AM | | Ok Mike, I've read the rules and I want to join the cult, I have Julies installed on my bike, I would like #757-200
here's my poem:
My Maguras and me, a friend and his vees,
went riding a trail on a hill.
Our ride was bombastic, the feeling fantastic,
the ride without trouble until.
With bikes fairly zooming, a dark spot is looming,
a big problem lies just ahead.
I see a large beaver, and pull Julie's lever,
relieving my feeling of dread.
His vee brakes screamed sickly, my bike though slows quickly,
eyes of the beaver grow wide.
My friend wonders why, his vees won't reply,
with power Maguras provide.
My friends brakes revolted, but the beaver he bolted,
saving the both of their hides
I came to a stop, my friend he did not,
Maguras the next time he rides!
No animals were harmed in the writing of this poem.
No flames please, I own bikes with Avid Mechanicals, Avid vees, and Magura Julies. I wrote this entirely in jest, although it is loosely based on a true story, just swap back-road for trail, and dump truck for beaver. My friend nearly had to bail to avoid the truck and me. Dump truck and lever just don't rhyme very well. |
| BwaaHaaaa³ !! | Mike T. Jul 27, 2003 5:07 AM | | A truly magnificent maggiepoem Icecamp©! That ensures your membership to the Magura Cult. Oh boy am I gonna throw the girls off at the local (Canadian) nudie bar! I'll yell "If yer Canadian, show us yer dump truck eh!" I can't wait.
Alrighty - arise Newby Magurite Icecamp©, mcm #757-200 and keep a sharp eye for those dump trucks chewing down trees that might fall across your swamp road and cause a nasty accident. Keep your Maggies well tuned.
Mike T. (mcm # 717 & ONGO eh)
PS - I'll need your ee-addy and at least your country of residence for occasional Maggie special offers (there's one going down soon for Gustav brakes) and annual newsletter. You may eee it to me. I'll have your info on the Maggie members' page asap. |

e addy: flydc3@yahoo.com
I guess you could substitute nudie bar for trail, stage for hill and, well, beaver for beaver....
this story just keeps getting better:) |
| Yebbutt............. | Mike T. Jul 27, 2003 8:44 AM | | .....what could the sub for "brass pole" be?
Ok I've got your details. D'ye know Ken in AK? We correspond often. Do you really fly a DC3?

| Used to | liatdraH Jul 27, 2003 6:40 PM | | I used to be a co-pilot mechanic on a DC3 out of Seattle on a daily run to Vancouver. I am working in AK for the summer for the Alaska Fire Service. I winter in WY for now. No I don't know Ken. Heres a picture of the "house" I fly now. It's a Spanish built plane called a CASA. |
