hi, i have a problem. i have a manitou fork and bought some disc brakes for them that have the rock shox mount. my local bike shop tells me that with the adapter that they have, i will need a bigger roter and a different hub becuae i have 2003 xtr discs. i know there is an adapter that can solve my problem. thank you

You will need to get ahold of a 170mm rotor. But assuming the hub you have now uses a 6-bolt rotor mount, you won't need a new hub (the 170mm rotor will also usea 6-bolt pattern). However, if you have an '03 XTR hub, you may be screwed — I haven't seen any 170mm rotors using the new Shimano spline pattern.

If you're really in the position of having to buy a new rotor, adapter & hub to make this all work, consider instead selling your Manitou fork and buying a different brand with IS mounts. That might work out to be the less expensive option.
