Jul 29, 2003 5:46 AM | | My brakes squeeeeel bad! I had XT's but switched to Avid 7's, I have tried different cartridges, and recently a brake booster, which worked wonderfully(for a while), but my squeel is back. By the way I have ceramic rims and yes my brakes were all ceramic.
please help with any suggestions
this is driving me crazy!!

Jul 29, 2003 6:33 AM | | Toe them in! They won't feel as nice and crisp, but it should shut them up. All you have to do is make sure that the leading part of the pad (part of pad that points to the front of the bike) touches the rim before the trailing part of the pad.
One of the many ways to do this is to align the pad square with the rim surface, but have a dime sit between the trailing end of the pad and the rim. |
