Avid SD-Ultimate caliper bearings(1 post)

Has anyone be able to remove the bearings from an Ultimate caliper for servicing? I have a set on which the bearings have gotten a bit rough and notchy feeling, and would like to remove them for cleaning and repacking or replacing as needed. I have done this on a couple sets of Arch Supremes with great success, but have as yet been unable to get the bearings to even budge in the Ultimates, using the same tools and techniques. Is there something different about the Ultimates that I'm missing?

And yes, I have tried contacting Avid; 3 e-mails and 2 phone calls later, nothing has been returned. All I can figure is that I am not among the "Brake Time" elite.

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks much in advance.
