| Avid Ultimates and Marta SLs | SpiderX927 Jan 9, 2004 3:31 AM | | One of my bikes has Ultimate rim brakes and the other has SLs. I ran into the Magura rep and he is a great guy but he said that when you factor in the brake posts that the SLs are actually lighter. What about the wheels, rotors etc. I have King/517/ultimates and King/717/SLs. Has anyone gone through this exercise with regard to weight? |

| "nm" or "NM" or "NT" etc. indicates that the message body... | AndyH Jan 9, 2004 5:06 AM | | ...is empty, and thus there is no need to click on the link to read any further.
NM = No Message
NT = No Text
It's a common courtesy to do this on discussion forums so people don't waste their time and bandwidth clicking on a message topic only to find there isn't any message. |
| Lighter or not... | Homebrew Jan 9, 2004 10:17 AM | | The dramatic performance gain with disc brakes is much more important than a couple ounces gained or lost. Also, the SLs are only minutely lighter and cost $50 more per brake than the regular Martas. |
