Has anyone had a problem with wheels locking up on a DH trail?
The weirdest thing happened to me. It felt like my front wheel locked up when i was haulin ass and in the process i broke a collarbone and cracked some ribs. When I got up to check my bike the front brake was locked up and I had to release my cable to get the wheel to roll. The strange thing is, the next day i checked everything, nothing is bent or out of order, and the cable is tightened in the same spot brakes are working fine now. Im in no shape to ride, or even work for that matter, but now I worry that it may happen again. Im thinkin about putting my avid single digi7 back on the front. any suggestions or comments? cant work for 4 weeks so take your time ill be here for awhile..
What fork? How is your cable routed?shiggy©®™

Do you have the cable housing attached to the fork crown? If so, don't. The housing needs to move with the sliders/hub. Also make sure the housing can not snag on anything (stem, fork, computer, etc.) causing the brake to tighten.

Shiggy is spot on. Sounds like the same thing that happened to me a few weeks back, the rear locked up after I tipped over on a technical section while climbing. The bars turned enough that the left brake lever grabbed the rear cable housing and kinked it, locked the brake up tighter than anything. Bent the housing straight again, made sure the zip ties holding everything in place let the housing move around and all is well. Had to pry the pivot arm of the brake to get it to release though. No problems since.

Sorry to her about the bones. I broke two ribs last June, took all of 4 weeks for the pain to go away, 6 weeks for it to feel like it never happened...just in time for race day. I found stretching while laying flat on my back on the floor helped keep things lined up. For some reason the muscles in my back and shoulder really started contracting and almost pulled me into a hunch back.

Good luck.

Well, the only wat that the brake can tighten up on you is either the barrel adjuster at the lever, or the adjustment pieces at the caliper. Other than that, I'm stumped...
